Sepura is honoured to have won one of the UK communications industry’s most sought-after awards. Against tough competition, the company was presented with the Gerald David OBE Award for Business Radio Innovation for its pioneering STP8X intrinsically-safe ATEX/IECEx certified TETRA radio.

The Gerald David OBE Award is one of the most sought-after awards from the Federation of Communication Services (FCS), the industry’s main trade association, and was presented to Sepura at the FCS award ceremony in London on 21st June. Its purpose is to recognise and reward manufacturers, integrators or developers for significant innovations in radio communications.

Guy-Franck Nakach, Senior VP Sales & Marketing at Sepura comments , “We are delighted to have won this award. In another remarkable year for the company, it is testament to the dedication and commitment of all our employees that we have been recognised for our innovation. It underlines our commitment to continually push the boundaries of development and enhance our contribution to the global TETRA industry.”

The STP8X is a fully-approved, Intrinsically-Safe (IECEx / ATEX) TETRA hand-portable radio, derived from Sepura’s existing flagship STP8000 range of hand-portables. It is the only IP67 TETRA Intrinsically Safe radio currently on the market and was developed to meet the growing requirement for TETRA technology from beyond the public safety market; for which TETRA was originally conceived.
