Sepura has achieved a significant milestone in selling 45,000 TETRA radio terminals to UK public safety organisations since the introduction of the national Police ICT framework in November 2018.

The framework has reduced the burden of the procurement process for UK police forces by providing a nationally co-ordinated approach, benefitting Airwave user organisations through greater efficiencies in procurement and relationship management. The framework agreement has significantly sped up the procurement process for forces looking to invest in new TETRA devices and accessories whilst also allowing for sizeable cost savings through this national approach.

In the short period since the introduction of the framework, customers have invested in over 45,000 Sepura terminals with the largest single order totalling over 32,0000 hand-portable and mobile terminals, ensuring that the SC20 and SC21 hand-portable devices are rapidly becoming the TETRA terminals of choice for UK public safety.

New users to SC2 Series radios will benefit from outstanding audio, reliability and robustness as well as the ability to deploy intelligent applications to enhance their operations.

Gary Maughan, Regional Director for UK & Ireland said: “The choice of the SC2 Series as the UK’s TETRA radio of choice fully justifies the investment Sepura made in understanding customer requirements and developing a product that stands out as the market leader.”
