Motorola Solutions has announced its new and upcoming digital two-way radio offerings aimed at Australia's minerals and energy sector.

With its newly released APX 2000 Project 25 Portable Radio, ATEX/IECEx rated model within the MOTOTRBO 4000 Series and a DIMETRA model due later in the year, Motorola Solutions' digital radio portfolio will cover all three radio standards for the mining sector, P25, DMR and Tetra.

Motorola Solutions' digital integrated voice and data communications services will enable minerals and energy customers in Australia to select the radio system that best fits their operational needs. With its two-microphone design, the APX2000 features background noise suppression, GPS tracking, man down and blast tone functionality for safety benefits for mining operations, IP67 and MIL-STD certification to protect against water immersion, dusty, heat and high humidity and tempered glass that resists scratches.
