Hytera US Inc. is launching the BD612i DMR radio on March 16, 2022.

Hytera, a leading global provider of innovative radio communications solutions, launches the BD612i Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) as a replacement for the TC610 analog radio. The TC610 has a large market share in the construction and manufacturing industries due to its reliability, performance, and low cost. The digital BD612i radio is the next generation of TC610 with improved audio quality, longer battery life, improved ruggedness, extended range, and increased channel capacity.

The BD612i radio provides excellent audio performance in either analog or DMR digital audio technology that features noise cancellation for improved voice quality and reliable communications on noisy assembly lines and construction sites.

The BD612i features a powerful 1500mAh Lithium-Ion battery for up to 16 hours of operation, and an optional 2000mAh Lithium-Ion battery delivers up to 22 hours of operation at 5/5/90 duty cycle (5% of the time is spent transmitting, 5% receiving, and 90% on standby). That is 80% longer than the 9-hour battery life of the analog TC610 with a standard 1200mAh battery.

Ruggedness and durability are improved with compliance to the IP66 standard for water and dust resistance, and the BD612i meets the MIL-STD-810-G standard for shock and vibration. This is important on job sites where radios are often subjected to impacts and exposed to spraying water and dirt.

The BD612i supports 48 channels, three times the channel capacity of the TC610.

The BD612i features VOX operation for hands free operation. The BD612i is smaller and lighter than the TC610, making the BD612i easy to carry and operate over long shifts.

“The new BD612i carries on the tradition of Hytera quality and durability for our contractor and manufacturing customers and the price point still delivers value,” said Tom Wineland, Vice President of Sales, “and despite global supply chain challenges and chip shortages, we will have inventory to make shipments at the time of launch.”
