Glostrup headquarter recognised as global centre of technical excellence for TETRA digital radio technology innovation.

Motorola Solutions will this year mark half a century of collaboration with public safety organisations and commercial customers in Denmark: The company is celebrating its 50th anniversary in country with a strong footprint as TETRA technology leader and provider of the nationwide state-of-the-art TETRA radio system that has been the communications backbone of Danish emergency services for more than 10 years.

The TETRA-based network SINE (SIkkerhedsNEttet) guarantees 99.999% communication for police, rescue services and parts of the defence force through a dedicated, highly resilient, and secure network. The system has undergone continuous upgrades and evolution to meet user expectation and needs.

“Public safety organizations are under enormous pressure – threats are more complex, populations are growing, budgets are under pressure, and constant scrutiny has resulted in even greater accountability,” said Michael Kaae, Vice President Northern & Eastern Europe and Managing Director Denmark at Motorola Solutions. “Blue light organizations need highly reliable, mission-critical communications solutions from a partner who not only understands the current needs, but has a clear vision for the future.”

“Motorola Solutions is the only major company solely focused on public safety, and we therefore lead mission-critical communication solutions worldwide. We will continue to invest in TETRA and public safety LTE broadband solutions to prepare for the future needs.”

“We are proud to provide Danish public safety organisations with a reliable network that offers excellent performance to help ensure the safety of the citizens of Denmark.”

Denmark’s pivotal role in global TETRA solutions
Motorola Solutions has a longstanding relationship with Danish public safety organisations and enterprises. Denmark was one of the initiators of the TETRA standard and strongly involved in the development of the standard used by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).

Consequently, Motorola Solutions’ Dimetra TETRA software releases around the world have a significant development footprint in Denmark. The expertise of the local team in Glostrup / Copenhagen ranges from experts for infrastructure and devices to managed services, sales and system deployment. Currently, 200 engineers are working in Glostrup making the Danish facility one of Motorola Solutions’ technical focus areas worldwide.

“We are extremely proud of our heritage in Denmark and the world-class work that has come out of the Golstrup team, and we look forward to bringing many more innovations to emergency services around the world as a result,” said Kaae.
