Wilson Connectivity and WP Electric Restore Mission-Critical Communications at San Bernardino County Police Facility

Wilson Connectivity and WP Electric & Communications, Inc. have announced the successful deployment of a hybrid in-building wireless solution at a multi-story police department facility in San Bernardino County, California.

The project resolved serious signal coverage gaps where carrier signal had been too weak to support reliable public safety communications, leaving officers and staff unable to consistently place calls or reach dispatch.

The deployment pairs the WilsonPro 4330 bi-directional amplifier with the Zinwave 8000 wideband fiber DAS, creating a hybrid architecture that distributes consistent cellular coverage across the building's multiple floors. The Zinwave 8000 supports all major carriers and frequencies on a single infrastructure, while WilsonCloud provides real-time visibility, automated alerts, and diagnostic data. WP Electric delivers the system as a fully managed service covering design, installation, and ongoing monitoring.

According to Payam Maveddat, General Manager – Enterprise at Wilson Connectivity, a carrier signal that drops as officers enter the building represents a public safety issue rather than a connectivity one.
