Juma Introduces Bone Conduction Headset and Body PTT System for Professional Radio Users
Juma has launched the BCHS1, a Bluetooth bone conduction headset and body PTT system aimed at professional radio users operating in environments where situational awareness is essential.
The system uses dual bone conduction sensors positioned on the user's cheekbones to deliver audio via facial vibration, leaving the ears open to ambient sound. This approach is particularly relevant for public safety, security, and industrial deployments where operators need to remain aware of their surroundings while maintaining radio communications.
The headset features an adjustable behind-the-head band and a down-lead fitted with a quick-release Nexus connector, interfacing with compatible Juma PTT units or speaker microphones. The body PTT unit includes a 55mm inline controller with a 2.5mm threaded jack for optional remote finger PTT, and dual switch technology. The system carries an IP56 rating, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C, making it suitable for demanding field conditions.
The BCHS1 is available in black and is compatible with radio-specific connectors across Juma's accessory range.
