Franklin County picks Zetron to deliver MAX Dispatch
Franklin County, ME, commissioners voted unanimously to buy a new dispatch radio console with four dispatch stations for installation at the Regional Communications Center.
According to the Franklin Sun Journal, replacing the current console, which is about 12 years old, is part of a five-year plan to improve emergency communications.
Commissioners asked the local communications director earlier this month to get a price on a console if the county paid cash for it. He presented two quotes for the console and installation, but opted for the offer that was delivered by Zetron direct.
The price to buy one direct from Zetron Inc. is $166,516.04, he said. The price to install it from Communication Consulting Service Inc. of Gray is $5,000.
It is expected that the console will be shipped by the end of this year.
