Innovative sells Radio Dispatch System to East Jutland Fire Brigade
East Jutland (Denmark) Fire has recently purchased and commissioned a complete radio dispatch solution that is delivered as a result of a collaboration between Innovative and Terma A/S.
The solution is delivered from Innovative, who, as "single-point-of-contact", has first line support on both control rooms' interVIEW software and radio dispatch from Terma.
"The integration of Terma's high quality solution combined with the interVIEW platform from Innovative, was the obvious way to go," says Lasse Clemmensen, Emergency Inspector at East Jutland Fire, regarding their choice of the radio dispatch. "We have spent a long time testing the solution, before taking the decision, and we have already seen the great value of the radio dispatch. The radio dispatch solution was absolutely necessary for us", concludes Lasse Clemmensen.
The radio dispatch includes two workstations and can handle up to 70 talkgroups per workstation at the same time, making communication much more manageable and effective.
Kristian Weinreich, Team coordinator at East Jutland's Fire control room, talks about the new solution: "In the past, we used a bunch of radios standing on the table. Now we have a manageable solution that allows us to move around the composition of the different talkgroups and with a single click, we can indicate who the operator communicates with. At the same time, we can keep the communication between the other talkgroups".
Radio dispatch has already proved its usability in several ways. Kristian Weinreich explains: "We have sometimes experienced situations where an incident commander and team officials had misunderstood each other. They would probably have understood each other at some point, but the radio dispatch has clearly saved very valuable time in the deployment of our tasks".
