The 28th Winter Universiade took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from January 29 until February 8, with 1613 athletes of 54 countries participating in the games.

During the Universiade, organization staff and the security police used Hytera PD785G radios to ensure the communication between different divisions and security units.

The PD785G is compatible to both analog and digital mode. Compared to the analog radios, PD785G works 40% longer time and provides higher quality of voice transmission in noisy environments or at the edge of coverage area. It ensures GPS location tracking service and sending of GPS text messages. PD785G supports various types of voice calls like personal call, group call, all-call, and emergency calls.
