Whether for firefighters, police officers or in the industry: reliable communication between users is a key factor.

Dreieich, 6th July 2011 - Whether for firefighters, police officers or in the industry: reliable communication
between users is a key factor for several businesses and may decide about the success or failure of a critical
mission. Trouble-free communications can even safe lives, for example to ensure a coordinated overview in
any situation and to avoid accidents. Radio- and telecommunication technologies provide the required
mobility. But when choosing the appropriate solution, it is also most important to draw attention to an
ergonomic and lightweight design, the wearing comfort, as well as to the specific requirements of the
operational area in which reliable day-to-day communication should be ensured. Imtradex, the specialist for
hear-/ talk systems recommends the use of multi-purpose neckband headsets.

"In many areas it is essential that the communication solution adapts to the working process. Police officers
and firefighters often require a hands-free solution, a high performing noise cancelling microphone and a
headset, providing maximum wearing comfort, to ease long-lasting operations. Same refers to employees of
call centers, who process important information using the PC during a phone call", explains Mathias Iser,
Managing Partner of Imtradex Hör-/Sprechsysteme GmbH (www.imtradex.com) with regards to the advantage
of valuable, lightweight and ergonomically designed solutions. His company therefore provides and
recommends the use of neckband headsets in order to assist with a tailor-made solution that meets the
customer’s high demands communication devices for day-to-day use.

The specific advantage of the NB series is the Open Ear gain Technology. The speaker is located on the
cheekbone and the ear is free to locate surrounding noises. That way, the neck holder set NB 2000 is a suitable
hear-/talk solution for use with, without or with changing helmets for the industry, police, military or security
services. The high performing NC (Noise Cancelling) electrets microphone is also suitable to wear with
respiratory masks. Alternatively, the NB 3000 completes the NB-Series with a high performing contact
microphone. “The high-performing bone-microphone of the NB 3000 takes speech from the cheekbone and is
located in the housing of the speaker. That way, the user can communicate without a gooseneck microphone.
The advantage is that the headset can be carried under helmets and protection cloth, or eases communication
when wearing a mouth protection” explains Mathias Iser.

To provide maximum wearing comfort, the neckband of the NB series is available in two different sizes.
Furthermore, the Open-Ear-Gain Technology provides a very clear and natural sound. A soft silicone tube
transmits the speech from the speaker to the ear. There, the human ear itself amplifies the sound by approx.
17 dB in a natural way. That way, the user achieves an optimum ratio between voice signal and noise. Next to
the high durability and wearing comfort, this Open-Ear-Gain technology provides an additional advantage:
Clear communication in rather loud environments like between machines, in sports stadiums, in bars, during
demonstrations, etc. The rugged neckband sets from Imtradex can be connected to both analog and digital
radios as well as to various telephone systems. In cooperation with the ATEX Specialist Ecom Intruments,
Imtradex furthermore provides an ATEX-proof version for explosion endangered areas.
