Ooredoo Stimulates the Use of New TETRA Radios

TETRA operator Ooredoo has announced a host of new promotions for its TETRA service users to celebrate the launch that TETRA devices that are now available for purchase from Ooredoo.

The Ooredoo TETRA service is a professional mobile radio and two-way transceiver service that also enables companies to deploy TETRA Applications, such as the TETRA Computer Aided dispatcher system, voice recorder, automatic vehicle location (AVL), and in-building solutions to augment traditional GSM coverage weak-spots.

To stimulate the use of the highly reliable, mission-critical communication system, Ooredoo will now sell TETRA devices in Qatar. Business customers can now buy TETRA devices from Ooredoo directly and enjoy the advantage of the new TETRA offer for a limited period.

Talking about the service, Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “Ooredoo is the sole operator of Qatar’s TETRA network, which is part of our award-winning Supernet. Along with our growing TETRA portfolio, our customers can now directly purchase TETRA devices and accessories from Ooredoo, meaning Qatar’s TETRA network can grow easily and efficiently with its businesses.”

From today until 27 June 2017, all customers who replace their old TETRA device and purchase a new one from Ooredoo will receive free reprogramming (for existing users) and a free connection charge (for new users), saving the business QR 50 per device. “This device launch and promotion is yet another way Ooredoo is continuing to modernise and update its communication services for businesses, as we push to be Qatar’s premier ICT provider.” Al Kubaisi added.

In addition to a broad range of TETRA-compatible applications, Ooredoo’s TETRA services include a full portfolio of communications services, including group, individual and broadcast calls; an extensive range of compatible handsets, and a fully-supported operations and maintenance service, with a 24-hour dedicated helpline.
