To be created on this site of around 19,000 m² with an investment of approximately 4.1 million euros is a ca. 2,400 m² production hall and warehouse, as well as building sections required by the company in the areas of development and administration.

The CEO's of Antennentechnik ABB Bad Blankenburg, Michael Märte and Dr. Michael Weber, have laid the foundation stone for the company's new production facility at the Weimar-Legefeld location in the presence of Thuringia's Trade and Industry Secretary, Wolfgang Tiefensee, the mayor of the city of Weimar, Stefan Wolf, and the managing director of the developer Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Thüringen (LEG), Andreas Krey.

Trade and Industry Secretary Wolfgang Tiefensee appreciated the company's great innovatory power: "Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg is not only strengthening the automotive location Thuringia by its global distribution of trendsetting products, but also actively contributing to the development and opening up of new fields of application with its research".

After the scheduled completion of the construction work in the spring of 2017, the company will be relocated from Bad Blankenburg to Weimar. The new production facility will help to provide better production conditions and hence the basis for further future growth. "Our existing location only offers inadequate infrastructures for efficient production. The new building brings us more capacities, thereby creating a basis for our growth in national, European and international markets", as Michael Märte put it in his celebratory speech.
