Hytera Mobilfunk discusses latest PMR trends at 22nd Hamburg Communications Day

Source: MCCResources

At this industry gathering, users of professional mobile radios will be able to discuss the latest trends in the mobile communication sector with experts from both manufacturers and network operators.

During the event, Michael Fertig, Regional Director at Hytera Mobilfunk, will report on the possibility of virtualizing network elements in digital radio systems in his presentation "Integrating Digital Radio in Existing IT Infrastructures".

Sites and network constituents such as base stations, applications and network management systems communicate via IP technology, which suggests using an existing "proprietary" IT infrastructure. With the aid of virtualization technologies, software processes of the digital radio system can be integrated in virtual machines. This will ensure that computer capacities are utilized in the most effective manner while massively increasing the energy efficiency of the overall operation.

Michael Fertig's presentation will begin at 10.50 a.m. The Hamburg Communications Day will be held at the Holiday Inn Hamburg at Billwerder Neuer Deich 14. The event is being hosted by BESCom Elektronik GmbH.
