Dick Straathof, Manager Finance and Administration says, "The season at Keukenhof is short but very busy. In the past 64 years, more than 50 million visitors from around the world have already discovered Keukenhof.

For "Keukenhof" fast and reliable communication during the peak season is of great importance. Within various parts of the organization in and around the park,  a large group of people are activly engaged in carrying out their duties, especially during the peak season from March 21 to May 20,.

Several groups, such as the management, maintenance, security and parking must be able to communicate efficiently while performing their tasks. For optimal communication a TETRA radiocommunications system (including radios) from Cuna International has been chosen.

Dick Straathof, Manager Finance and Administration says, "The season at Keukenhof is short but very busy. In the past 64 years, more than 50 million visitors from around the world have already discovered Keukenhof. The current park measures 80 acres with 15 kilometers of footpaths.

Cuna International recommended a TETRA system because TETRA makes it possible to communicate with many different groups of users at the same time. Also in terms of range and sound quality TETRA is the perfect system for these kind of operations. The TETRA technology automatically filters out disturbing noises so that  a crystal clear call quality remains. "

It is also possible to initiate an emergency call on the TETRA network. The emergency call has a higher priority than other calls. Conversations with a lower priority are automatically 'put on hold' or moved to another channel once the emergency call has been initiated.

The radios will be extensively used during the season starting from 21 March to 20 Ma. Reliability is therefore of great importance. Should a fault occur, Cuna will be able to fix any problem 24/7.

The Tetra system that is being used, is based on a a 3T extras SOLO repeater, a Motorola MTM800 TETRA Trunking base station for the reception area and Motorola MTP850 radios including external speaker / microphone.
