Brazil’s Federal Highway Police (PRF) are rolling out a nationwide TETRA network with TELTRONIC technology
With this contract, TELTRONIC Brazil confirms its leadership in South America as the main supplier of TETRA technology.
TELTRONIC has had its bid accepted in a tender for the construction
of a TETRA network for Brazil’s Federal Highway Police (PRF). The PRF,
which is part of the Ministry of Justice, is the police force
responsible for public safety and traffic control on the country’s
federal highways. By way of this project, Brazil’s Federal Government
has shown its intention to provide the latest generation of digital
communications for its 61,000 km. road network.
The first phase of the project is made up of 650 base stations
spread over 12 regions, which will provide coverage for the roads of
Brazilian states with borders with other countries as well as around the
twelve host cities for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
