The contract is worth €2.7 million and includes a combination of Sepura’s market-leading hand-portable and mobile radios.

A fire station in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock, Germany was the location chosen for the official signing of a new framework agreement between SELECTRIC Digital Radio-Systems NRW GmbH and the East Westphalia-Lippe administrative district. The agreement is for the supply of over 2,800 Sepura TETRA radios and accessories in a contract worth €2.7 million and includes a combination of Sepura’s market-leading hand-portable and mobile radios.

Representing SELECTRIC, Jürgen Heußner, Managing Director, took the opportunity to thank the purchasing co-operative of East Westphalia-Lippe for their confidence in choosing the solution and was delighted to be working with them to help deliver all the benefits of the technology.

The administrative district makes up one-fifth of the federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia and has a population of more than 2 million. The TETRA network will be deployed throughout the districts of Gütersloh, Herford, Höxter, Lippe and Paderborn to deliver reliable and secure communications for the fire service, disaster relief and emergency services in the region.

The co-operative was formed to maximise economies of scale and to enable them to achieve the desired objective of upgrading their system before the end of 2013. From the issue of its tender in spring 2012, the buying group of East Westphalia-Lippe evaluated the proposals, and SELECTRIC emerged as the clear winner with its technologically superior, cost-effective solution.
