Since the partnership between the two organisations was sealed 3 years ago, Sepura and RIC-Systems have worked very closely to develop the Russian TETRA market and have achieved some impressive results and milestones.

At the start of the new year, Sepura celebrates its successes in the CIS region in 2011; among these is the remarkable progress achieved in Russia with its established channel partner RIC-Systems.

Since the partnership between the two organisations was sealed 3 years ago, Sepura and RIC-Systems have worked very closely to develop the Russian TETRA market and have achieved some impressive results and milestones.

The close collaboration between Sepura and RIC-Systems has led to the launch of the Gamma brand of TETRA radios in the Russian market and the first ever Glonass enabled TETRA radio in the world. Glonass (Global Navigation Satellite System) is a radio-based satellite navigation system - analogous to GPS - operated by the Russian Space Agency. The official launch took place at the Svyaz Expocomm exhibition in Moscow in May 2011.  Within the framework of this event, Sepura and RIC-Systems signed an official agreement which seals the close technical cooperation between the two organisations. The main objective of the agreement is the development of solutions, equipment and services for the Russian market which use the Glonass system and the TETRA standard.

The successful launch of the Glonass-enabled Gamma-branded TETRA mobile radios has seen the first substantial delivery, by RIC-Systems and its parent company Radiotel, of 1,500 units for use at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

Also in collaboration with RIC-Systems, Sepura has launched a Russian service and repair centre for Sepura and Gamma radios. This joins the existing network of Sepura repair facilities across the globe and aims to improve further Sepura's services to its customers in Russia.  The service centre will reduce the turn-around time for repairs and cost of carriage whilst providing high quality local support in the local language.

Kasper Barfoed, Regional Director for Sepura comments: "Customer support is a priority for Sepura. As well as understanding our customers and providing the necessary solutions in producing cutting edge products, it is vital they receive all the support possible to ensure total customer satisfaction. Our service repair centres go a long way to achieve that objective".

Barfoed adds: "Sepura is committed to the Russian market and will continue supporting the country's migration from analogue to digital. Our partnership with RIC-Systems has already enabled us to deliver some impressive milestones for this market. We are committed to maintaining our high standards of support towards the growing number of Russian customers from a wide range of verticals and continuing our technical cooperation enabling our TETRA radios with ground-breaking Russian technologies".

Aleksey Kozhemyako, Director of RIC-Systems concludes: "We are delighted with the cooperation with Sepura, the quality of their products and the level of support provided has enabled us to successfully win new customers in the Russian market.  We are very optimistic about the future of this partnership. This is a perfect example of two highly professional and specialised organisations joining forces and successfully addressing the growing need for digital PMR solutions in the Russian market."
