Shenzhen Metro’s second phase project, the first metro that has realized coverage of seamless interconnected metro TETRA network on all its lines in China, has made a smooth operation since its trial operation on June 28, which indicates the development of TETRA digital trunked communication system in China’s rail transportation field has reached a world leading level.


The TETRA digital trunked network with all line interlinked and intercommunicated is one of the core guarantees of the safe and high efficient operation of Shenzhen Metro. Along with the development of the city and the expansion of the metro lines, some large cities have built up over 20 metro lines. Therefore, the unblocked trans-line communication and the interconnection between different metro lines are crucial for the safe operation of metros. The interlinked and intercommunicated TETRA digital trunked communication network has become one of the necessities for the construction of the urban metro. Cassidian had successfully realized the interconnection and intercommunication between the three lines metro line 4, line 2 and line 8 in Guangzhou before the 2010 Asian Games, which provided guaranteed and valuable experience for the high efficient metro commanding and dispatching during the events.
