Radio communications firm Sepura, is extending its horizons to the Far East - with a little help from UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).

Analysis of the market, introductions to senior officials and identification of local partners are just some of the areas where UKTI has lent a hand. It has also provided advice on issues like language and how business operates in environments often very different to that of the UK.

“UKTI has assisted us many times, particularly in China after we started to develop our business there,” said Sepura regional director Kevin Graham. “It officiated at the opening of a factory by our contract manufacturer, supported several Sepura conferences and roadshows in China, and has been engaged in lobbying on our behalf in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.”

UKTI international trade adviser Mike O’Malley said: “In China, we have helped Sepura by providing introductions to senior Government officials, advising on language and business culture issues, and carrying out research to identify additional local partner companies so it can expand its presence.
