CML Microcircuits has announced an upgrade of its highly integrated solution for transmitter linearisation, the CMX998.

The Cartesian feedback loop IC, the device is now more flexible, boasting an RF operating range of 30 MHz to 1 GHz. The CMX998 provides all of the building block functions needed to implement a Cartesian feedback loop transmitter in a two-way radio design, and is well suited to multim
code software defined radio (SDR) systems. It is designed to improve the efficiency and linearity of transmitters and can support a wide range of linear modulation formats and standards, including TDMA operation, TETRA mobile station power classes up to 3 W (Class-3), APCO P25 and TETRA 2 terminals. Other suitable applications include aviation systems, mobile satellite terminals and many more using linear modulation schemes.

The upgraded CMX998 integrated solution operates in the range 3 V to 3,6 V and is available in a 64-pin VQFN package with an added thermal ground pad to aid performance. An evaluation kit (EV9980) is also available.
