Home Secretary Theresa May is visiting NDI Recognition Systems

Home Secretary Theresa May is visiting NDI Recognition Systems (NDI-RS) on Monday 23rd August at 10.30am. NDI-RS is a leading UK-based designer and manufacturer of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) solutions with a track record of high profile ANPR installations around the world including the “London ANPR Ring of Steel” and the “Manchester ANPR Ring of Steel”.

During her visit, the Home Secretary will discuss a wide range of security issues relating to the use of ANPR and the role that this technology can play in increasing national security and cutting crime here in the UK as well as in major export markets.  It will be a ‘must have’ solution to provide additional protection at major public events including the forthcoming 2012 London Olympics.

The Home Secretary will meet with Adrian Cadd, Head of Sales and Marketing at NDI-RS, who will discuss the leading role that the company is taking in the development of new, innovative solutions designed for use by security forces in both covert and overt applications.  She is including ANPR in the review of CCTV regulation and will have an opportunity to see demonstrations of the latest systems including vehicles from some of the UK’s leading police forces.  Of particular interest will be the new generation of rapid deployment ANPR systems that can be used without extensive specialist training and can simultaneously process up to two lanes of high speed, high density traffic as well as being networkable to provide a ‘ring of steel’ capability.

NDI-RS is one of the leading suppliers to the UK Police Service with all solutions being NAAS compliant and meeting the highest industry standards.  The company is committed to a programme of ongoing research and development and has been responsible for many of the latest innovations for the global ANPR market.  These include the design of Talon, the industry leading neural network technology-based ANPR engine.
