ATIS systems GmbH delivered a new voice recording system for air traffic control in Afghanistan

ATIS systems GmbH delivered a new voice recording system for air traffic control in Afghanistan under contract to the NATO - the VoiceCollect® MDx. This multi-functional system has recently been installed in the new tower at Kandahar International Airport by ATIS’ local partner and has now successfully passed site acceptance testing by the customer. ATIS thus once again impressively lived up to its international reputation as a leading high-tech company in the field of voice recording.

Over the past years, Kandahar Airport has developed into one of the most important operational bases for NATO aircraft in the conflict zone. After a recent deterioration of the situation in southeastern Afghanistan, NATO’s operations increased to 5,000 flights per week. This means that Kandahar Airport is now the busiest single-runway airport in the world. Such a large volume of traffic requires that safety and 100 percent traceability of all measures taken are given top priority.
