This year’s edition, which will join together network users and partners, will mark the 10th anniversary of the Rakel network.

Airbus is to take part in the annual Rakel Day, which gathers together end-users, partners and providers who contribute to the smooth running of the national Swedish digital communications network for public safety organisations called Rakel. A whole range of products and services provided will be on show at Airbus stands M91 and M99

Like every year, MSB, the Swedish Contingency Agency, host of this event, will invite customers, potential customers, partners, and suppliers to share a day full of exhibitions as well as workshops and presentations around the theme: ‘Crisis requires knowledge’.

Visitors will have the chance to discover Airbus’s Tactilon Dabat, Tetra terminal and smartphone in-one, along with the array of applications available on the device including Airbus’s Tactilon Agnet communication and collaboration solution which enables push-to-talk (PTT) communications, emergency features and individual and group communication of messages, data and videos. Airbus will also be showing virtual reality solutions and various other terminals for public safety and business or mission-critical use.

Airbus has been a provider of the Rakel network infrastructure since its roll-out in 2010. Rakel is used by the emergency services and others in the fields of civil protection, public safety and security, emergency medical services and healthcare in Sweden. There are around 70,000 users in the network and it helps provide security for 10,000,000 people. The network comprises 23 switches and around 1,850 base stations.

Approximately 800 people are expected on the 15th of November for the decennial anniversary of the national network.
