Icom Incorporated has concluded a share transfer agreement with Macrotechnos Company Limited, a provider of contract software development and technical support services, to acquire all its shares and make it a wholly owned subsidiary.

1. Reason for Share Acquisition

Since its establishment, Icom has consistently focused on a "Made in Japan" manufacturing policy and has developed almost all their technologies, including software and hardware, in-house. In recent years, Icom has developed IP radio equipment that enables nationwide communications via cellular lines and networks, and have also provided the world's first satellite PTT (push-to-talk) communication equipment that can be used in the Iridium satellite network.

Macrotechnos is mainly engaged in contracted development of embedded software and technical support, and has a proven track record and high technology in the development of software for audio equipment and other mass-produced products of manufacturers. As a result of this experience, they also have highly applicable technical experience and development skills in the development of wireless communication devices.

In wireless communication equipment, software is rapidly becoming more sophisticated, and although ICOM is actively hiring new graduates and experienced personnel, securing highly skilled human resources has become a priority. By making Macrotechnos a subsidiary, Icom will accelerate the speed of development and further improve the product development capability of the ICOM group.

In addition, Icom will actively promote collaboration with other companies and "acquiring" type acquisitions in accordance with the "Medium-Term Business Plan 2026," and this acquisition of shares and conversion into a subsidiary is a project that realizes this policy.
