The VCC Tetra is connected through the SDS-box to the Tetra Device. The SDS-box which was a development of Hamburg firefighters technical department. The SDS-box causes a switching between the tetra-device and the VCC. In the moment, the central dispatch send a message (SDS) out to the vehicle, it includes GPS information and is accurate to accident site. At the time when the team gets to the rescue vehicle, the VCC Tetra already calculated the route, and all is ready for Sail. The VCC requires an amazing 3.5 seconds to calculate the route.

In addition, the VCC Tetra has more benefits, like a M-function for 'Messaging' and an S-function for 'status' in the menu. The contents of the user himself can be determined. With a push of M1, for example, an additional vehicle can be requested or asked for a police roadblock. The S keys are for status messages provided. An example is: Status 5 means "Talking wish ". All this is running on the SDS-Service at the Tetra network. The received SDS reports (Short Data Service) also send a conformation to the central dispatch of delivery, if programmed in to the Tetra network. The SDS-reports are stored for 24 hours in the VCC, until they are deleted, for the new crew takes its shift.
