In a statement on their website, ARCIA (The Australian Radio Communications Industry Association) said it is pleased to present their thoughts with regard to the "Draft Spectrum Reallocation Recommendation For The 850/900 MHz Band" discussion paper, and will primarily reiterate thier previous position regarding the allocation of spectrum within this particular band.

Since 2013 the ARCIA has either been involved in the discussions regarding Public safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) or have followed the progress with interest. This is because many of the ARCIA members are either involved in the public safety sector as volunteers, or have an interest as suppliers or similar supporting roles.

With this background ARCIA explains their serious concerns around the proposed reallocation of this band.
