The Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS) announced that the number of radio subscribers registered in the BOS digital radio network is growing steadily. In June 2018, the 800,000 mark was exceeded.

The BOS digital TETRA radio network, delivered by Airbus, offers a nationwide uniform and high-performance operational means of communication for all authorities and organizations with security tasks in Germany.

Currently about two-thirds of the radio subscribers, around 517,000, belong to the group of non-police security. These include the fire brigades, rescue services, civil protection and aid organizations.

In addition, the police of the federal and state governments also communicate with digital radio BOS.

Overall, through the radio network, about 50 million radio messages are registered each month.
