With the presentation of the DecryptAir from fjord-e-design, Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH, this week, introduced a new product for the analysis of encrypted TETRA radio networks at PMRExpo in Cologne.

The new development of the company-owned engineering forge from Flensburg is an optional addition to the 8150 RF AirAnalyzer. Especially customers in the field of public safety as well as TETRA network operators and users of medium to large networks will benefit from the unique performance the DecryptAir is offering.

The DecryptAir can be used to analyze static or dynamic encrypted radio communication (air interface encryption). Messages are automatically decrypted in the uplink and downlink for analysis. The prerequisite for this are appropriate authentication and encryption algorithms, which are stored securely in the system. In addition to the secured storage of algorithms and due to its compact design and USB interface, the DecryptAir offers the advantage of an easy and fast connection to the analysis PC.

The DecryptAir reveals its full capacity in resource monitoring and quality analysis of mission or business critical TETRA networks, while analyzing and solving problems – especially during the introduction of new system technologies – and during network optimization and analysis of hand-over parameters. Furthermore, the DecryptAir supports the 8150 RF AirAnalyzer using it as a reliable tactical instrument.

“This decryption device increases the quality and security of every analysis of encrypted radio networks. That is why the DecryptAir is the professional solution to comply with the new requirements of Security and Fraud Prevention Group (SFPG), which is part of the Critical Communications Association (TCCA)”, says Stephan Rüstig, Senior Product Manager at Hytera Mobilfunk.

Frank Pauer, Deputy CSO: “We have combined the launch of the DecryptAir with optimizing price-performance ratio for the AirAnalyzer. So we can offer a very attractive package to a large number of network operators and network users.”
