Frequentis' main focus at the PMRExpo 2015 from 24 to 26 November, Hall 10.2 – Stand C02 will be digital radio and crisis management.

Frequentis main focus at the PMRExpo 2015 from 24 to 26 November, Hall 10.2 – Stand C02 will be digital radio and crisis management. Project news from North Rhine-Westphalia and Böblingen will be presented, as well as insights from the 2015 G7 Summit and the newest developments in the area of real-time operational pictures – the Frequentis LifeX ECO System. People and safety are at the heart of all Frequentis control centre solutions.

As an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks, Frequentis takes part in working groups, and research projects in support of future developments related to Public Safety including LTE, VoIP, NG112 and eCall. Customised solutions support networked nationwide control centres along with regional ones – Frequentis solutions ensure the following items are always addressed: highest availability, reliability, failure safety, redundancy and modular system architecture.

Digital Radio Connector V1.0

Trial live operations started in North Rhine-Westphalia on 7 September, 2015. All control centres can be connected to the BOS digital radio using the German digital radio connector independent of the utilised systems. Sixty non-police control centres (fire and rescue services and emergency medical services) are being connected by Frequentis via a concentrator network. The network is based on the Frequentis Unified TETRA Gateways and makes it possible to serve a greater number of control centres, as well as making increased resources available due to a centralised, common use of this technology. The digital radio connector functions as an open, manufacturer-independent and standardised interface. Trial live operations based on the German digital radio connector version V1.0 are proving successful and will continue through the end of the year. An important milestone has been reached allowing all control-centre related manufacturers in Germany to benefit from this significant functional demonstration.

Integrated Command and Control Centre Böblingen Uses Digital Radio

A second digital radio project in southwestern Germany is also showing great success. With the integrated command and control centre Böblingen; a non-police control centre in Baden-Wuerttemberg has been connected to the emergency services digital radio via a concentrator solution for the first time. Additional pilot control centres in the region are Oberschwaben and Rems-Murr.

Insights from the G7 Summit 2015 in Bavaria The G7 Summit took place on 7 and 8 June 2015 at Schloss Elmau in Bavaria, Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The 3020 LifeX voice communications system was the key communication instrument of the Bavarian Police for their security measures, with more than 140 operator positions and almost 18,000 emergency services personnel. Security at major events is not new for Frequentis; the company has many additional references in this area, such as the G7 Finance Summit in Dresden at the end of May 2015, the Olympic Games 2012 in London and 2004 in Athens, and the Asian Games in Doha 2006.

Evonik Relies on FREQUENTIS Solutions

Frequentis is also demonstrating initial success with industrial applications working with Evonik. ASGARD was built based upon the IT landscape of the customer, made entirely out of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware products; based on VoIP (Voice over IP), and provides flexibility and modularity as well as interfaces to all other systems.

FREQUENTIS LifeX ECO System

Frequentis is an active partner in various European research projects whose focus is on finding solutions for major trans-regional disasters. At the PMRExpo 2015, Frequentis will present the design study of a real-time operational picture system called "FREQUENTIS LifeX – Exchange Collaborative Open Platform" (LifeX ECO System), which is based on the 3020 LifeX product. Using the example of a flooding scenario in North Rhine-Westphalia, the real-time operational picture system demonstrates how major disaster scenarios based on real-time data (e.g. meteorological or hydrological data) can be made more manageable, and how this data supports decision-making processes. The LifeX ECO System aggregates and processes as well as distributes and secures real-time data. Due to open interfaces, industry partners can develop services themselves and integrate them into the system through a "partner development program".

Frequentis will demonstrate its competence looking toward future-oriented developments by showcasing its product and solution portfolio at the PMRExpo 2015, making the world a safer place every day.
