The delivery to markets outside of Europe, already successful for many years, is now reaching a new dimension with the production start at Antennensysteme Elektronik Sanayi A.S. Turkey.

The successful expansion and reorientation of Antennentechnik is not only taking concrete shape in the new building at the head office location in Weimar. The company is also focussing on its site in Turkey. The delivery to markets outside of Europe, already successful for many years, is now reaching a new dimension with the production start at Antennensysteme Elektronik Sanayi A.S. Turkey.

The new production location was opened in Istanbul in January 2017, and the introduction of the internal ISO 16949 guidelines was followed by the manufacture of the first products at the new plant in Turkey. The Istanbul plant currently has its first 10 employees working under the supervision of plant manager Ugur Akkaya.

Hakan Okutgen, the director of the subsidiary, commented along with Michael Märte, director of Antennentechnik: “We are very satisfied with the production start. The networking with the parent company took place without hitches and in a highly professional manner. Especially the direct integration of SAP-assisted process flows was helpful”

Besides the qualification and instruction of the personnel, the technical integration with the ERP system of Antennentechnik is a key requirement for the desired production quality because it enables the new production location to access the data bases of the parent company, thus providing for flexibility and quality in the manufacturing.
