APD Develops and Implements new TETRA Network in Venezuela

Source: MCCResources

COBRA International has awarded to APD the development and implementation of a TETRA communications infrastructure and four new Control and Command Centers to be used by the National Security Forces and Civil Protection in Venezuela.

The supplied TETRA infrastructure is manufactured by Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH and consists of 82 base stations distributed nationwide serving to complement the coverage of the current communications network of the Government of Venezuela. As a complement to this infrastructure, 4.500 new TETRA terminals were deployed, also from Hytera.

In addition, the four Control and Command centers under implementation are located in different geographical sites inside Venezuelan territory, offering a full decentralized and distributed system which permits, in case of emergency, the back-up from any other of the 3 Centers.

Besides the management and dispatch of the TETRA infrastructure deployed, our C4i serves as communications gateway between the current TETRA network and the new infrastructure. At the same time, the C4i facilitate the integration of both networks and include other PMR communication networks from different Public Safety organisms.

Each center is equipped with a complete Voice and Data communications system, along with an Emergency Information & Dispatch module and complemented with Geographical tools to track persons and vehicles (AVL), all running on high availability infrastructures. The users not only manage and dispatch the TETRA communications but also control the available resources of the different security forces to immediately serve the community under emergency situations.
