The awards ceremony was hosted by Baroness Browning of Whimple in the House of Lords and this year took place on 9 November.

Airwave, the leading provider of critical voice and data communications to public service organisations in Great Britain, is proud to support the Ambulance Service Institute (ASI) Awards with the sponsorship of the NHS Ambulance Service of the Year Award.

This year the award went to the West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust who, together with the South Western Ambulance Service, was the only service in the country to achieve the 2010 National Performance Targets.

The NHS Ambulance Service of the Year Award acknowledges NHS Ambulance work that demonstrates a high level of care and professionalism from the whole Ambulance Trust or is in some other way ‘special’. The award can be given for a one off event or a continued period of outstanding service.

Dominic Robertson, account director at Airwave says: “All of the recipients deserve enormous praise for their actions and we are honoured to be a sponsor of this particular award. As an organisation closely linked to the emergency services we are committed to acknowledging outstanding achievements amongst the different Ambulance Trusts.”

The ASI presents the awards to mark the outstanding actions of ambulance staff across the country. The awards ceremony was hosted by Baroness Browning of Whimple in the House of Lords and this year took place on 9 November.
