Rotterdam Public Transport RET want damage compensation from KPN

By a failure in the networks of KPN (Dutch Telecom Suplier) last week, the C2000 TETRA system and P2000 communications system did not work properly in the city of Rotterdam. These are the systems which the police, fire and ambulance are in contact with each other. But the communication system of the subway stopped working. The control room was not able to communicate with the train drivers including the metros.

Thus did the RET decided not to operate the metro line. After a few hours, the metro traffic was moving again. Initially, that morning it was decided  to drive slowly with the metros and testing was done with empty metro's

The cause of this failure is still unknown. KPN said on Radio Rijnmond, after extensive preparatory work this week only to have begun investigating the cause. How much damage has accumulated RET, the carrier must still compute.
