STS Romania Recieves Bids from Motorola, Hytera and Airbus for TETRA Modernization

The purpose of the present acquisition is to modernize the hardware and software infrastructure of the TETRA Joint Platform (PCT) at national level

Motorola Solutions Romania, Hytera Mobilfunk Gmbh, Airbus Defense And Space Romania and the consortium formed by Leonardo SPA and Rartel recently submitted tenders for the provision of computer equipment and applications for the modernization of the hardware and software infrastructure of the TETRA joint platform of the Special Telecommunications Service (STS).

The contract is estimated at 54.5 million euros, excluding VAT, for 7 years. The purpose of the present acquisition is to modernize the hardware and software infrastructure of the TETRA Joint Platform (PCT) at national level. This is done by gradually replacing the existing infrastructure components, which currently provide services for approximately 125,000users withinthe emergency services, public order and security. The old infrastructure will be replaced by a new modern infrastructure allowing to increase the range of services  and increase the availability of infrastructure and quality of the PCT services, 

The PCT modernization aims to streamline the activities carried out by the institutions with responsibilities in managing emergency situations, public order and security, as well as optimizing the cooperation between them in the joint effort to minimize reaction times to extreme events and to resolve emergency situations, through providing these institutions with modern professional mobile communications services, with a high level of resilience and availability.
