On Tuesday morning, the Directorate for Social Security and Emergency Response (DSB) announced reduced functionality in several control rooms for Nødnett, the Public Safety TETRA network in Norway.

Notnett yesterday announced that the communication between the control rooms and end users using the emergency network in Eastern Norway is in order again after experiencing reduced communications functionality with the Nødnett control room due to maintenance activities.

On Tuesday morning, the Directorate for Social Security and Emergency Response (DSB) announced reduced functionality in several control rooms for Nødnett. This created problems for communication between the control rooms and the operational resources of the emergency services in the field.

The error occurred in connection with scheduled maintenance however supplier and DSB worked closely together in order to resolve the problem.

During the disturbance, the emergency numbers worked normally and the public could contact the emergency services (police, fire and health) in the usual way.

The error meant that the emergency centers and emergency personelll who were outside, had reduced communications on the Nødnett network. For both parties, this resulted in using other means of communication.
