Omnitronics announced today that the first orders for the new DRG200i have been shipped. The DRG200i is designed for dispatch applications in DMR and NXDN networks, providing convenient access to both channels on a transceiver.

It is based on the proven and successful DRG100, sharing much of the same software and circuitry. However, the product has been simplified to reduce cost whilst enhancing connectivity, especially for tier-2 applications.

A single DRG200i will enable multiple dispatch consoles to access a DMR or NXDN transceiver. All connections are made using IP and a number of protocols are supported including AIS. The device has a built-in Ethernet switch that simplifies installation, allowing it to be used as a hub in a simple dispatch environment. When partnered with the RediTALK dispatch console, the DRG200i provides a cost-effective method to access the rich features of a 2-channel digital radio network.

In sharing the same DNA as the DRG100, the DRG200i provides many additional benefits. These include added security and reliability through the separation of protocols between the radio and the console sides, and the ability to update or change firmware as your system changes. Finally, although it’s perfect for Tier-2 and small dispatch applications, the DRG200i can also be used with trunking radio applications.
