Imtradex's HS3 Handset with Push-to-Talk Functionality Secures Place in DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung Framework Agreement

Four-year Air Traffic Management framework agreement puts PTT-enabled handset and headset technology at the centre of DFS's controller communication equipment.

Imtradex, a leading manufacturer of headsets, transmit buttons, and handheld radios for safety-critical communications,  has signed a four-year framework agreement with German Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, with the company's HS3 handset and its Push-to-Talk (PTT) functionality forming a central element of the Air Traffic Management communication solutions covered under the deal. The agreement runs until May 2030.

Under the agreement, Imtradex will supply its latest generation of ATM communication equipment to DFS, with particular emphasis on PTT-enabled devices designed to support fast, reliable voice communication for air traffic controllers. The HS3 handset is supplied alongside Imtradex's AirTalk® 5000 headset series, which also features Push-to-Talk functionality, giving controllers a consistent PTT-based communication method across both handset and headset equipment. PTT technology allows controllers to initiate transmission instantly at the press of a button, a capability considered essential for maintaining clear, low-latency communication in time-critical air traffic control environments.

In total, the framework agreement comprises six AirTalk® headset models with PTT functionality, two headset models without PTT, one PTT button, and the HS3 handset. Beyond the core equipment, the agreement includes more than 30 accessories and spare parts for air traffic controller equipment, covering hygienic consumables and replacement components such as ear cushions and microphone windshields. Full service and repair coverage is also included for all listed products, streamlining ongoing maintenance for DFS.
