RATP Advances Progressive Deployment of France's Radio Network of the Future
ACMOSS supports RATP Sûreté as GPSR field teams trial RRF smartphones and command post applications ahead of Grand Paris Express readiness
ACMOSS has continued its support of RATP's Sûreté (Security) division in the progressive deployment of the Réseau Radio du Futur (RRF), France's next-generation critical communications network for public transport security operations. The initiative follows RATP Sûreté's participation in the network's in-service verification (VSR) phase between June and November 2025, and now advances into a pre-deployment stage within the operator's Sûreté Business Unit (BU SUR).
Between 18 and 25 August 2026, RATP, the Paris public transport operator, trialled the RRF with field teams from its Network Protection and Security Group (GPSR), deploying around fifty RRF smartphones alongside approximately ten command post dispatcher applications. The trial was designed to test RRF equipment and services under real operating conditions, validate smartphone usage procedures, refine user training, and gather feedback from agents working in the field.
Throughout the pre-deployment phase, ACMOSS is providing RATP Sûreté with daily support in delivering a critical mobile operational communication service tailored to the operational needs of its agents. The GPSR, which comprises close to 1,000 sworn officers, is responsible for the protection of passengers, staff and infrastructure across the Paris metro, RER, bus and tram networks throughout the Île-de-France region. With the RRF deployment, RATP Sûreté's ambition is to be fully operational in securing the future Grand Paris Express network.
Further deployment opportunities in constrained underground environments
RRF deployment is not limited to the Paris transport network. ACMOSS is also exploring further opportunities in other major metropolitan areas, building on trials previously conducted in the Rennes metro. Carried out in underground conditions, those trials tested the continuity and quality of voice communications, data and video transmission, and underground geolocation capabilities under conditions closely resembling real operational scenarios.
