Two leading providers for mission-critical communication solutions, Zetron and Harris Corporation’s Public Safety and Professional Communications (PSPC) business, have teamed up to provide industry-leading technology in North America.

Zetron has been chosen to provide New Zealand utility, Powerco, with an integrated voice-and-data solution that will improve communications in Powerco’s control center and in the field.

The company recently announced the development of a console subsystem open Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) interface using the Application Interface Specification (AIS) developed by members of the DMR Association for Tier III trunked radio systems.

The new application program interface for its DCS-5020 Digital Console system allows end users to control call opps. directly from the mapping resource instead of having to control them from the console wich simplifies operations & reduces response times.

The company has a long history of supporting open standards, and is a member of the P25 Technology Interest Group (PTIG) and Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association
