Hytera and Radcom recently supported the International Running event St. Dominica, a sporting event that was held in the city of Gdansk Poland on the 6th August.

Taking place in the historic center of Gdansk, the International St Dominic Run is a street run as well as an annual prestigious sport and promotional event in the city of Gdansk since 1994. The run takes place in 5 categories: first, VIP, woman, amateur and “wheelchair” (for the disabled). The main purpose of the event is to promote healthy, social and educational aspects of running among different social groups.

On August 6 th, the 24th edition of the race was held with the participation of leading Polish runners as well as famous foreign runners. This year's event welcomed about 2,000 athletes that were supported by thousands of people.

Communication at the event, to streamline communications for the organizers, was provided by the Radkom together with Hytera. Hytera PD785G and PD705G analog-to-digital radios were available for operation in VHF. Security of the communications was ensured by using Hytera's 40 bit encryption. The battery charging process was improved by using a 6-pin charger.

"Thanks to the radios, we were able to easily connect despite the difficult terrain of Gdansk's old town, where the houses are built very close to each-other. There was excellent communication within the range of a few kilometers, ", said Kamil Sośniak of the organising committee of the event.
