SIRESP expands TETRA network to the Azores, Portugal

The City Council of  Povoação was the first municipality in the Azores to sign an agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), through the General Directorate of Infrastructure and Equipment (DGIE), for the implementation of the Project

The Free Lease Agreement recently was signed between the municipality and the MOI Interior for the installation of a Communications Tower on land belonging to the municipality of Povoação.

At the official ceremony, Carlos Correia, responsible for the General Directorate of Infrastructure and Equipment, said that, in symbolic terms, the protocol "is of great importance because it is the first step to finish a communications network covering for the National Emergency services. We lacked the Azores and today we took the first step in this last phase of the project. "

Already Carlos Avila, Mayor, expressed satisfaction with cooperation from the municipality stating that "we hope that this Information Network and Communication is beneficial for the whole country."
