Five Reasons why businesses use Tetra Radios

Tetra is the current standard for private digital radios (PMR) and public access mobile radio (PAMR). The system provides many advantages to its users, including security, flexibility, calling fastest and is easy to use. The term tetra, Terrestrial Trunked Radio acronym in English, was originally developed for use by first responders. His speed became one of its most popular features.

TETRA radios offer more features

Tetra radios now offer more features than other private radio systems, and these features are what helped make them so popular. Set the call quickly can be crucial in emergency situations. The group communication port provides direct mode operation between units as just pushing a button. Transfer services and packet data mean that the information is delivered as quickly as possible. Advanced security features include call waiting, call barring, and diverts incoming calls.

Three operating modes

The TETRA system provides users the choice between three modes to use your communication system. The most used is the voice and data, which allows switching between voice and data transmissions, and supports both on the same frequency. Direct mode is used for communication between two units and supports both voice and data for both sides. The packet data mode offers the user the possibility to send data only through radio waves, with a more intense security inspection.

Voice and faster data

For businesses that rely on large amounts of voice and data transmissions, the spokes should be the choice to communicate. The system uses TDMA techniques, which allow each channel breakdown in grooves for better transmission. A talk sent through this system is digitized, so both voice and data are transmitted in the same format, and placed in one of four slots for each channel. This allows them to be sent faster than you would a normal cell phone.

Safer Transmissions

Data sent by the system is modulated using a tetra differential phase shift. This method shifts the phase of the RF carrier in two steps that are filtered to remove any side band could extend beyond the allocated band, and damaged. This filtering ensures the purity of the received data, and simultaneously protects the hacking and the deviation from external sources.

Faster switching times

Using a combination of private mobile radio service and public access has greatly reduced the time in the call setup, and is now lower than that of two-way radios. Activation of a call occurs in less than 300 ms, 150 ms only in direct mode operation. Since these systems were developed initially by lifeguards and other emergency personal, not surprising that companies have had to rely on their speed and accuracy to connect.
