New Fire, Medical and Police Services Sign Up to France's Future Radio Network

Latest agreements with SDIS, SAMU, hospital and municipal police services mark further progress in France's critical communications network deployment

The rollout of the Future Radio Network (Réseau Radio du Futur – RRF) continues, with new players from the security, emergency response and medical assistance continuum joining the network. Several departmental fire and rescue services (SDIS), SAMU emergency medical services, hospital establishments and a municipal police force have now signed their membership agreements to join the network.

New members join the RRF

The SDIS fire and rescue services of Cher (18), Sarthe (72) and Yvelines (78), the SAMU emergency medical services of Aude, Drôme and Gironde, the Centre Hospitalier Sud Francilien, and the Wambrechies municipal police force are joining the RRF momentum. For each service, signing the membership agreement marks the starting point in its process of gaining access to the RRF — a very-high-speed, secure, resilient, interoperable and priority critical communications infrastructure.

Strengthening operational communications

In a context where security, emergency response and health services are increasingly required to intervene jointly during emergency or crisis situations, the ability to communicate and share information across services in real time represents a significant step forward. The RRF strengthens coordination between responders, facilitates the instant sharing of information, and promotes interoperability between the various stakeholders mobilised in the field.

Momentum continuing across the regions

These new memberships form part of an ongoing rollout drive among local and regional stakeholders, including prefectures, departmental councils, fire and rescue services, health establishments and municipal police forces.
