Siyata Pre-Announces Next-Generation Multi-Mode Handheld Device Bridging LMR and Broadband Networks

New device features interoperable connectivity, modular battery options, and expanded accessory support ahead of full commercial launch this fall

Siyata and AT&T, during the recent APCO event, pre-announced a new multi-mode communications device designed to bridge land mobile radio (LMR) and broadband networks within a single handheld unit, the company confirmed during a recent interview. The device is expected to be fully launched and commercially available in the October–November 2026 timeframe.

According to Bob Escalle, Siyata PTT’s vice president of public safety the device retains familiar LMR-style functionality, including a dedicated emergency button and separate volume control, while incorporating broadband capabilities through both an eSIM and a physical SIM card slot, alongside a memory card slot for additional storage.

Power flexibility is built into the design, with a removable standard-capacity battery available at launch, and a high-capacity battery option to follow. The battery attaches via a snap-on mechanism, and the device includes USB charging on its base along with dedicated charging connections.

The device supports an accessory ecosystem connected through an integrated accessory jack, including remote speaker microphones, a forthcoming Bluetooth microphone, and both individual rapid chargers and multi-bank charging stations.

On connectivity, the representative explained that automatic switching between broadband and narrowband LMR networks is application-dependent. Devices operating outside broadband range can fall back to narrowband connectivity when the active application is built to support that capability, with the enabling function residing at the device level.

The pre-announcement is intended to build anticipation ahead of the device's formal commercial rollout later this year.
