Crosscall Joins Telefónica in Spain's "5G Emergencias" Programme to Validate 5G for Emergency Communications

Pioneering European initiative will test 5G reliability across major urban events, industrial chemical risks, forest fires and crisis coordination scenarios, with Crosscall's CORE-Z5 selected as reference terminal.

Crosscall has been selected alongside Telefónica to take part in "5G Emergencias," a pioneering European programme designed to validate the contribution of 5G technology to emergency communications in Spain.

The initiative places Crosscall's mission-critical communications expertise at the centre of a live testing environment, with the programme set to examine the reliability and effectiveness of 5G under real operational conditions. Test scenarios include major urban events, chemical risk incidents in industrial areas, forest fire response, and multi-agency crisis coordination.

For all scenarios tested under the programme, Crosscall's CORE-Z5 device has been chosen as the reference terminal. The selection reflects criteria considered essential for emergency and critical communications use, including extreme environmental resistance rated to IP68/IP69K and MIL-STD-810H, a dedicated Push-To-Talk button enabling fast, instant group communications, and 5G compatibility with support for private networks and network slicing.

Participation in "5G Emergencias" represents a further recognition of Crosscall's standing in the mission-critical communications sector, as the company continues to develop solutions built to meet the demands of the most critical operational environments.
