Industry leaders to address hybrid LMR-MCX transition, cloud security and 5G/6G developments ahead of 19 August event.

The Critical Communications Association (TCCA), through its Australasian Critical Communications Forum (ACCF), will host the sixth edition of its CCBitesize Webinar on 19 August 2026, from 12:00 to 14:30 AEST, bringing together senior figures from across the mission-critical and business-critical communications sector to address the region's evolving technology landscape.

The session, aimed at mission-critical and business-critical LMR and broadband users across Australasia and Oceania, will examine how developments in digital LMR, 4G, 5G and emerging 6G technologies are reshaping communication solutions for the region. Organisers have designed the webinar to deliver frontline insights while supporting procurement and commissioning managers responsible for strategic planning within their organisations.

The speaker programme reflects broad representation across the critical communications ecosystem. Confirmed speakers include Bidar Homsey, Chair of the ACCF and Public Safety Business Executive at Frequentis; Kevin Graham, CEO of TCCA; David Deacon, CEO of Etherstack; Justin Bowden, Head of Security, Public Sector at Amazon Web Services (AWS); Peter Hudson, Chief Technology Officer at Sepura; Alison Port, Director of Engineering at Indara; Michael Atanasov, Head of Public Safety Project Services at Frequentis; and Daniel Chivell, Engineering Principal at Telstra.

Discussions will cover three core themes. The first addresses global standardisation efforts in critical communications and the ongoing transition to hybrid LMR-MCX operation, supported by real-world case studies. The second explores mission-critical communications in the cloud era, focusing on how the sector can build trust, security and resilience for public safety communications as cloud adoption accelerates. The third examines the enduring role of digital LMR within critical communications networks and the challenges of managing complexity in mission-critical system delivery.

This year's CCBitesize Webinar continues TCCA's established programme of regional engagement through the ACCF, providing a dedicated forum for Australasian and Oceania stakeholders to engage directly with global industry leadership on the technical and strategic issues shaping the sector.
Registration for the webinar is open via the link provided in TCCA's official communications.
