Aramco Digital to Launch National Industrial Mission Critical Communications Network in Saudi Arabia
450 MHz mission-critical network aims to deliver high-reliability, secure, and flexible communications to support industrial digital transformation and Vision 2030 objectives.
Saudi Arabia’s industrial ecosystem is set to gain a significant boost with the upcoming launch of Aramco Digital’s National Industrial Network, a purpose-built connectivity platform engineered to support secure, resilient, and high-reliability communications across the Kingdom. Operating on the 450 MHz spectrum, the network has been designed as mission-critical industrial infrastructure to meet the demanding requirements of modern industrial environments.
Developed to provide wide-area coverage and advanced protection standards, the National Industrial Network is intended to support continuous, dependable performance for critical facilities, assets, and operations. Unlike public mobile networks, it has been specifically tailored for industrial use cases, enabling secure connectivity for critical assets, supply chains, logistics operations, and emerging applications such as autonomous mobility systems.
The network is positioned as a foundational enabler for smart industrial services, supporting real-time monitoring, automation, enhanced safety, and improved operational efficiency across multiple industrial sectors. By facilitating reliable data exchange and communications, it aims to strengthen business continuity and operational resilience in complex and mission-critical environments.
Alongside the network launch, Aramco Digital plans to introduce an integrated portfolio of industrial digital solutions powered by the 450 MHz infrastructure. This portfolio is expected to include specialized connectivity offerings designed to address diverse sector requirements, as well as a new generation of mission-critical smart radios developed specifically for industrial operations. These devices are designed to combine rugged, high-performance hardware and industrial safety compliance with advanced capabilities such as artificial intelligence, enhanced sensing, extended battery life, and real-time on-device data processing.
The National Industrial Network has also been engineered to support a broad range of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications. These include asset condition and performance monitoring, fleet and mobility management, environmental and air-quality sensing, intelligent video monitoring, smart metering, and infrastructure control. Collectively, these capabilities are intended to enhance transparency, automation, and efficiency across industrial and selected public-sector use cases.
As Saudi Arabia continues to accelerate its digital transformation, secure and reliable connectivity is increasingly viewed as a critical enabler of operational excellence and economic growth. The National Industrial Network is positioned to contribute to the Kingdom’s next industrial phase by providing a nationwide, highly reliable connectivity platform aligned with the goals of Vision 2030. By enabling closer integration between devices, machines, and AI-driven systems, the initiative seeks to support smarter decision-making through real-time data and edge processing.
More than an incremental upgrade in coverage or performance, the 450 MHz National Industrial Network represents a strategic step toward more autonomous, intelligent, and technology-driven industrial ecosystems. In doing so, it sets a new benchmark for advanced digital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, supporting sustainable growth and the evolution of mission-critical industrial communications across the Kingdom.
