The signing of the accession agreement by the Ministry of the Armed Forces opens the door to concrete and imminent operational implementation of the RRF within the armed forces.

On Thursday, July 3, 2025, Lieutenant General Erwan Rolland, Central Director of the Joint Directorate of Infrastructure Networks and Information Systems (DIRISI), was welcomed to the ACMOSS premises by its Director, Prefect Guillaume Lambert, and the agency's teams. This meeting was notably marked by the signing by Lieutenant General Rolland of the RRF membership agreement for the benefit of the Ministry of the Armed Forces (MinArm).

In addition to MINARM's membership in the Radio Network of the Future (RRF), several topics were on the agenda:

  • DIRISI's support chain mission for the benefit of the directorates, armed forces, and services;
  • The process of connecting the RRF to the RIE (State Interdepartmental Network) and operational command rooms;
  • The ability to support a rapid and massive surge in telecommunications resources for the Sentinel mission in the event of a major crisis (a key issue raised by the Military Governor of Paris, Loïc Mizon, during his visit to ACMOSS on June 26).

A presentation in the showroom of the equipment, including dispatchers dedicated to the command rooms, rugged smartphones and tablets, and RRF accessories, demonstrated the very high-speed broadband potential for both internal and interdepartmental communications needs. Several features also caught the attention of GCA Rolland, such as map-centric geolocation, distress calls, and the position of the isolated worker (PTI).

The other highlight was the visit to the ACMOSS Operations Control Center (OCC), as DIRISI also has an operational center (OC) and expertise in network monitoring. As the ACMOSS CCO must maintain constant contact with the operational centers of the ministries and agencies benefiting from the RRF, particularly in crisis situations, collaborative work between ACMOSS and DIRISI has already been planned for September 2025.

Through this desire to integrate the RRF, already expressed by the Chief of Staff at Eurosatory 2024, the signing of the accession agreement by the Ministry of the Armed Forces opens the door to concrete and imminent operational implementation of the RRF within the armed forces: evidence of this is the Air and Space Force, which has formalized its need to be fully equipped with the RRF by November 2025.
