Spanish MOI Visits ACMOSS and Collaborates on "Digital Spain 2026"
During the visit, Spanish representatives received demonstrations of the SYRIUS critical communications application and the ATRIA mobility management application, which enable secure communication and efficient management of emergency operations.
As the Spanish government plans to open its very high-speed broadband services, supported by the SIRDEE 2 project, starting in 2027, the Spanish MOI represented by Manuel Jesús Izquierdo Bernal (Director of State Security Infrastructure and Equipment) and José Antonio Cebrián de Barrio, Head of the PPDR and R&D&I Department at the General Subdirectorate of Information and Communication Systems for Security, of the Public Security Network in Spain, visited the ACMOSS premises and met with the agency's teams on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
The two agencies are deeply committed to strengthening their digital infrastructure, including cross-border communications, to improve the security and resilience of emergency services.
During the visit, Spanish representatives received demonstrations of the SYRIUS critical communications application and the ATRIA mobility management application, which enable secure communication and efficient management of emergency operations. These tools are essential to ensure optimal coordination between the various stakeholders involved in emergency response, particularly in cross-border areas where collaboration between French and Spanish services is crucial.
As part of its "Digital Spain 2026" strategy, Spain plans to invest heavily in digital infrastructure, including cross-border communications, to strengthen security and territorial cohesion. The collaboration with ACMOSS is part of this vision, aimed at harmonizing communication systems between the two countries and improving responsiveness to emergency situations.
Future Outlook
This visit marks the beginning of a strengthened collaboration between the Spanish authorities and ACMOSS. Technical exchanges and pilot projects are planned around interoperability between the RRF and Spanish systems. The objective is to create a unified and secure communications environment, facilitating cross-border cooperation and improving the effectiveness of emergency responses.
